Why does twine quality matter?

Guaranteed strength

Consistent knots and certified tensile strength. Fewer breakages in the field means less wasted time and fewer damaged bales.

Baler compatibility

Calibrated for standard market balers: John Deere, Claas, New Holland, Krone. No jams or constant adjustments.

UV protection

Anti-UV treatment for prolonged outdoor storage. Bales maintain their integrity through months of sun exposure.

Guaranteed length

Every spool meets the declared length. Production quality control to avoid variations that affect baler performance.

Low environmental impact

Options in 100% biodegradable sisal and jute. Polypropylene twines are recyclable as agricultural plastic waste.

Frequently asked questions about agricultural twine

What type of twine do I need for my baler?

It depends on your baler model and bale type. For round balers, high-strength polypropylene twine (200–350 kg) is recommended. For small prismatic bales, sisal or polypropylene twine of 90–150 kg. Check your baler manual or contact our technical team for a personalised recommendation.

What is the difference between polypropylene, sisal and jute twine?

Polypropylene is the strongest, lightest and most waterproof, ideal for prolonged outdoor storage. Sisal is a biodegradable natural fibre, preferred for animal feed as it does not contaminate forage. Jute is biodegradable and economical, ideal for temporary ties and light packaging.

Are Textil Villa de Pego twines compatible with all balers?

Yes. Our twines are calibrated to work with major market brands: John Deere, Claas, New Holland, Krone, Massey Ferguson and Kuhn. The diameter and strength are optimised for smooth passage through the knotter without jams.

How much twine do I need per hectare?

Consumption varies by crop, yield per hectare and bale size. As a rough guide: for wheat straw with round bales, approximately 2–3 spools of 10 kg per hectare are needed. Request a personalised estimate from our sales team indicating crop, baler and area.

What is the delivery time and minimum order?

Delivery in 3–5 working days on the Iberian Peninsula with Textil Villa de Pego’s own fleet. For industrial orders (full pallets), special price and delivery conditions. No minimum order for distributors. Contact our sales team for a personalised quote.
